How many pieces can I submit?

You can submit up to four poems and three prose pieces. 

Can I submit both prose and poetry?

Yes! You can submit any combination of the two genres as long as you don’t exceed the limit of four poems and three prose pieces. Just remember to fill out the submission form separately for each piece that you’re submitting. 

Do you provide payment for published pieces?

Although we would love to pay our writers, we cannot provide payment for published pieces because we lack the sufficient amount of funds to pay each and every one of our writers for their work. In the future, we hope that this can change and that we can pay our writers for all of their mesmerizing submissions. 

Is there a theme for submissions? 

No. However, though we don’t have a theme, we seek pieces that intertwine fairytale elements with the everyday issues our society faces such as racial discrimination, climate change, and gender inequality. Send us pieces that reveal harsh truths in the most enchanting ways. We also seek work from marginalized and emerging writers who have had their voices disregarded and silenced for far too long. We’d love to help these young writers spread their wings and let their voices be heard for once and for all. 

If my work doesn’t discuss these topics, can I still submit it? 

Of course! Send us your love poems about the pair of green eyes that bewitched you ever since you first saw them, your odes to the faded walls of your thousand-year-old childhood bedroom, and any work that will leave us spellbound, waiting for more. 

If my work has been previously published in Neverland Lit, am I still eligible to submit?

Yes! Your writing is still eligible for publication in our magazine. We’d love to read more of your work and see how it has evolved with the passage of time!
